Position Overview: As a Systems Administrator at HPSM, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Your responsibilities will include installing and configuring servers, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and implementing security measures. Key Responsibilities:
Install new/rebuild existing servers, configure hardware, peripherals, and services in accordance with standards and project requirements.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems ranging from simple to complex.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, and key processes.
Manage computerized telephone communications systems and oversee system operation and maintenance.
Evaluate end-user business requirements for enhancements and new services.
Provide technical support to Helpdesk and end users.
Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks.
Perform regular security monitoring, network scanning, and vulnerability assessments.
Plan, implement, and monitor internal IT security policies and application security.
Qualifications:
Five (5) years of equivalent work experience required.
Degree in computer science or information systems preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a mixed Operating System environment, including UNIX variants (AIX, Linux) and Windows variants ( Server Platform).
Experience with Cisco UCS and server infrastructure (routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, NAS/SAN) design and maintenance (Cisco and EMC is a plus).
Proficiency in Active Directory management, networking administration, managing Office 365, and database applications (SQL Server, DB2).
Familiarity with VOIP, Avaya Communication Manager platforms preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team, adapt to changing priorities, and organize workload efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide technical guidance to other IT staff.
Proven experience in automation to maximize efficiency.
On-site work at our South San Francisco, CA office is mandatory.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary range: $81,000 - $107,000, based on experience. HPSM-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision coverage. Fully paid life, AD&D, and LTD insurance.
