Our client has been in business for over 40 years and has a reputation as one of the best Heavy Civil/Highway Contractors in the Greater Chicago area. Their projects are valued from $1M-$100M across IDOT, ISTHA, and other municipalities. They're coming off a stellar year with a strong pipeline projected through 2026 and are looking to add a Project Engineer who would like to grow into a Project Manager role quickly.
Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project specifications.
- Assists in the preparation of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Regularly updates management on project status and conducts necessary project reviews.
- Clearly defines and communicates the scope of work, schedule, and budget to senior management, the client, and all project participants.
- Establishes, monitors, and manages project schedules and budgets to ensure they align with project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 1 - 3 years' of experience working in the Heavy Civil industry managing construction projects
- Bridge/Infrastructure, IDOT, ISTHA, or CDOT experience required
- OSHA Certified
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards

- Base salary of $70k-$95k, based on experience
