Role Summary:
The ideal candidate oversees project development, execution, and resource management while supporting business growth and maintaining customer and vendor relationships. This leadership position requires a deep understanding of project delivery and quality assurance, serving as the go-to expert in the office. Utilizing proven methodologies, the role demands adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to guide and mentor team members while building strong client and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves delivering high-quality outcomes across a variety of control system projects, from complex to smaller-scale endeavors. The successful candidate will design, detail, and implement control systems for diverse processes, managing the project's scope, schedule, and budget. The candidate may handle tasks such as early-stage engineering studies, project kickoffs, and field reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
This position also includes developing proposals, project plans, budgets, and schedules, managing tasks and time tracking, and addressing any issues that arise. Leading teams, participating in project status meetings, and presenting project details to clients are also key aspects. The candidate will oversee daily project operations, ensuring profitability and successful execution.
Primarily, this role is billable, with the candidate handling project work that directly supports project execution and quality assurance. Non-billable tasks like business development and resource management should be balanced to maintain focus on billable activities.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is highly desirable.
Experience: Over 7 years in relevant fields is preferred, including:
- Leading engineering teams or projects
- Working in industries such as Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Mining, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Manufacturing, or Food & Beverage
- Developing and maintaining standards for designing, testing, installing, and commissioning process equipment or machinery
- Project Management
- Experience with RTUs, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and Industrial networks is a plus
- Leadership in providing control system solutions and mentoring junior engineers
