Electrophysiology Opportunity
This Medical Center is a 314-bed Level II Trauma hospital located less than one hour south of Chicago. As the only hospital in Illinois to receive both Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence and Outstanding Patient Experience Awards, this Hospital & Medical Group continue to shape the future of medicine in the region.
Heart and Vascular Unit is composed of twelve board-certified cardiologists/EPs and nine advanced practice providers. This team is focused on providing high quality, comprehensive cardiac care from preventative health maintenance to cutting edge diagnostic and treatment services. We are actively recruiting a BC/BE Electrophysiologist to replace a retiring physician. Qualified candidates must be ACGME accredited and have completed an EP fellowship. We are willing to consider a 0.5 to 1.0 FTE for the appropriate candidate. The successful candidate must have expertise and interest in Laser lead extraction. Interest in epicardial ablation is preferred.
This is an EP-call only position. Candidates can expect a fully staffed and equipped new state-of-the-art practice environment with full access to the latest CARTO equipment, a dedicated ECHO machine and a dedicated EP lab. Additionally, one can expect a collegial group and a growing practice with an established patient population and referral network.
In addition to providing a new state-of-the-art practice environment, this opportunity offers:
- Two days in the clinic and two three days in the procedure lab
- Opportunity to do outreach one time per month
- EPIC EMR
- Watchman procedures
- Availability of Ensite software
- MURJ device monitoring software
- Teaching and working with fellows if desired

Facilities include an indoor ice skating rink named Ice Valley, 1000 seat recreation center, dog park, campground and a 72 boat slip marina on the Kankakee River. Fishing is plentiful as the district has 13 riverfront parks as well as a 5-acre stocked quarry. The district also features 2 softball complexes that have both been inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. The KVPD is home to annual State and World Series tournaments drawing nearly 50,000 spectators throughout the year. The KVPD also hosts one of the biggest BBQ Festivals in the Midwest every July. The KVPD is the proud home to area youth baseball leagues and several teams throughout the system have gone on not only to win State Championships but to advance to the Little League World Series.
