Job Description
We are seeking a skilled technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various packaging systems, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), and robotics. Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives is essential. An in-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems for troubleshooting and repairs is required. The candidate will adhere to corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report any noncompliance observed. Additionally, the role involves observing all company safety rules and assisting in their enforcement as necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
- 3+ years in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing/Production, particularly in the Food and Beverage Industry
- Experience in a fast-paced, multiphase production operation
- Proficiency with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical equipment
- Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC 3-phase
- Experience with various equipment, including case sealers and erectors (Tape or Glue), powered conveyors, tray wrappers, flow wraps, heat tunnels, baggers, printers, horizontal and vertical balers, weigh scales, single pallet wrappers, fully automated pallet wrappers, and robotic cells
- Knowledge of HMIs, AC/DC motor drives, and PLCs for basic troubleshooting or coordination with external programmers as needed
- Knowledge of automation and robotics for basic troubleshooting or coordination with external programmers as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and ability to meet specified deadlines
- Proficient and safe use of various power and hand tools, as well as testing equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, extend, reach, and twist for long periods
- Ability to read and understand schematics and/or equipment drawings
Responsibilities:
- Regular inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical production equipment throughout the facility
- Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical and mechanical systems on all automation equipment
- Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules during work activities
- Efficient time management and completion of all tasks assigned by supervisory authority
- Reporting damages, defects, and other issues related to electrical and mechanical units to the supervising manager
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Using the CMMS system for tracking preventive maintenance, work orders, repairs, and parts inventory
- Following corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and reporting noncompliance when observed
- Observing all company safety rules and assisting in their enforcement as appropriate
- Performing other duties as assigned
