As a Senior Superintendent for Lydig, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in maintaining project timelines, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and fostering a culture of safety on site. Collaborating closely with the General Superintendent, Project Managers, subcontractors, owners, and other stakeholders driving productivity, resolving challenges, and delivery projects that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Lead and coordinate all on site activities to ensure projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and proactively implement solutions to mitigate issues.
Leadership and Team Management
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to site staff, subcontractors, and other construction personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular site meetings to communicate project objectives, address concerns, and facilitate effective decision making.
Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance
- Ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality standards, meeting, or exceeding client expectations.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Champion a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all personnel on site.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining open and transparent communication throughout all phases of the project.
- Provide regular progress reports to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with the design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination and integration of the project activities.
Budget and Cost Management
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, T&M tickets, and other financial documents in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Work closely with General Superintendent, and project managers to forecast project cost and labor needs for management of cost effectively.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
- 12+ years of field experience or equivalent
- Minimum project history of 5 projects as the lead superintendent
- Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies and best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on innovative solutions to overcome projects risks or challenge.

- Completion of certified 4-year Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program preferred, or equivalent experience / education
- Current first aid and CPR certification
- OSHA 30 Training
- CESCL Training Certificate
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Autodesk, and suite of Microsoft products.
Salary:
- The salary range for this position is between $135,000 and $160,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
Other Requirements
- driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by Lydig’s insurance company and vehicle policy, if applicable for auto allowance
- be able to pass pre-employment checks including a Drug Screen, Criminal Background and possibly Credit check
- is a drug free workplace, and all employees are considered to be in “safety sensitive” positions. All employees will be tested for controlled substances, including cannabis.
