Maintenance Manager
MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Directs emergency repair of CNC machinery and plant equipment in Machining and Assembly Operations. Manages direct reports to ensure they perform with the highest level of safety, quality of work, and productivity possible. Executes the plant’s preventative maintenance plan. Responsible for the execution and interpretation of policies and for the successful operation of assigned units. Have authority to discipline and recommend hires/terminations.
Responsibilities
- Directs and completes all emergency repairs of plant equipment in entire plant.
- Directs and completes all preventative maintenance work orders in entire plant.
- Must have strong CNC knowledge in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Manages personnel in terms of evaluation, training, sometimes may coordinate outside training and communication.
- Maintains all work areas in a safe and orderly fashion according to plant standards.
- Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the manager.
- Reviews work orders to determine work priorities and assign them to subordinates accordingly.
- Schedules with production personnel the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure machines and equipment are properly running.
- Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to repair or upgrade machinery.
- Assigns preventative maintenance work orders to personnel based on priority and skill level of associates.
- Audits completed work orders to ensure that work is done properly, and equipment is in safe and proper running order.
- Can develop and implement improvements for specific maintenance processes, maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance instructions and systems.
- Maintains the proper discipline of subordinates and identify and follow up with employees on cases of poor work performance.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the training programs and make the required improvements to fulfill training needs and requirements.
- Attends daily first and second shift communication meetings with subordinates to discuss safety, reoccurring equipment problems, and to delegate assignments.
- Ensures that maintenance personnel return tools, parts, and other equipment to the proper storage place.
- Conducts audits to ensure that maintenance personnel complete proper 5S activity in their areas of responsibility.
- Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout Tagout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics.
- When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
Requirements
- Associate's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance management position.
- 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Prior automotive machining manufacturing experience.
- Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Repair assignment ensuring completion.
- Prior Scheduling with production personnel the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure machines and equipment are properly running.
- Prior work with CNC machines and Controls, assembly units & robotic cells.
- 5S Audit experience.
