Job Title: Contract PCB Design Engineer
Location: Texas (Remote/Hybrid options available)
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract PCB Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) that are integral to our cutting-edge electric vehicle systems. This role requires a deep understanding of PCB design principles, experience with high-speed digital and analog circuits, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PCBs for electric vehicle applications, including power management, control systems, and communication interfaces.
- Create and review schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and design documentation using industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or similar.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into overall system architectures.
- Perform signal integrity analysis, thermal analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure high performance and reliability of PCB designs.
- Develop and maintain design specifications, design guidelines, and documentation to support manufacturing and testing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design issues and support prototype and production testing as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to PCB design and electric vehicle systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in PCB design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects, particularly in the electric vehicle or automotive sector.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, Eagle, or similar software.
- Experience with high-speed digital design, analog circuit design, and power electronics.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for PCB design, including IPC standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automotive or electric vehicle-specific design requirements and regulations.
- Familiarity with design for reliability (DFR) and design for testing (DFT) methodologies.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools for PCB design and signal integrity.
