Job Description Summary
The Electrical Infrastructure Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of facilities reliability and maintenance engineering programs. Working closely with senior engineers and the facilities management team, this role aims to enhance building systems, campus infrastructure, and asset reliability, while also optimizing maintenance costs. The Electrical Engineer will actively participate in various projects, interact with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the maintenance staff.
Job Description
● Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and programs.
● Assist stakeholders through various project phases, including capacity checks, equipment assessments, design reviews, commissioning, and shutdown activities.
● Understand and review engineering drawings, evaluate contractor bids, and present recommendations under facility manager’s guidance.
● Gain exposure to designing, optimizing, and maintaining building equipment for a mission critical environment such as Switchgears, Distribution Panels, UPS’s, PDU’s, Generators, ATS’s, and Transformers.
● Collaborate with senior engineers to identify underperforming critical systems and components, contributing to root cause evaluations and prioritized resolutions.
● Assist in preparing analyses and recommendations, drawing on industry best practices and technological developments.
● Collaborate with the projects team to ensure newly installed assets are accurately captured in the CMMS system.
● Work collaboratively within the facility/maintenance engineering team and with other functional staff to achieve objectives.
● Participate in performance plans and contribute to measurements and metrics for organizational success.
● Stay up-to-date on electrical codes and standards.
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field (EE, ME preferred).
● 3-5+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
● Strong technical understanding and knowledge of electrical distribution, general HVAC, fire/life safety, Wattstopper and Eaton Foreseer.
● Working knowledge of all aspects of building systems and operations, contractual maintenance, construction and related services, and local laws and building codes pertaining to building operations and safety
● Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis
● Experience with predictive maintenance technologies is a plus.
● Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and projects under pressure.
● Understanding of project management, preventative maintenance, inventory control, supplier systems, environmental/sustainability software and programs is a plus
● PC literacy is helpful especially knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and scheduling programs
● Must be well-versed in creating spreadsheets and presentations. Experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
● Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
● Capable of functioning well under stress and during emergencies.
● Able to provide rotational afterhours “On Call”
Preferred:
● Engineering and/or Industry certification (i.e. P.E., CRL, CMRP)

● The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
● Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
● Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products and noise.

● The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash and the ability to safely use equipment provided.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
● Climb a ladder to perform repairs.
