DevOps GitHub Engineer (J-4350)

Capstone IT is assisting our client, a leading financial services provider, in hiring a skilled DevOps Engineer for a long-term, remote contract position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD processes, along with a strong background in managing and migrating CI/CD pipelines. A deep understanding of DevOps principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting 20 development teams as they transition their CI/CD pipelines from Jenkins to GitHub Actions, with each migration expected to be completed within a 3-week timeframe. Your responsibilities will include developing reusable GitHub workflows, integrating necessary tools, and ensuring adherence to best practices throughout the migration process. Effectively managing timelines, maintaining seamless communication, and overcoming technical challenges will be critical to the success of these initiatives.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in Jenkins and Groovy for managing existing systems, scripting, and migrating CI/CD pipelines to GitHub Actions.
- Expertise in GitHub, GitHub Actions, and YAML for developing and configuring reusable workflows and components.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, particularly in CI/CD processes, container orchestration, and integration of pipeline tools like SonarQube and CodeQL.
- Experience with software development technologies including Node.js, Gradle, Groovy, and Java, with a focus on developing reusable GitHub workflows for AWS deployment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams to migrate repositories to GitHub, ensuring clear documentation and adherence to best practices.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changes with agility.
- Experience with AWS services (ECS, ECR, IAM) and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, specifically AWS CDK.
