Job Purpose Experienced Suspension Design Engineer is responsible for designing suspension parts and systems that meet targeted schedules and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda's customers.
Key Accountabilities - Achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery Targets by:
- Confirm supplier part/assembly designs and/or model parts and systems on own in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS office. Part and assembly designs will consist of castings, forgings, stampings, rubber bushings, dampers, coil and torsion springs, fasteners, etc.
- Thinking critically & applying fundamental engineering principles to complex targets.
- Plan & coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing and suppliers.
- Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups
- Lead meeting and/or give constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items
- Review costs to ensure it meets the design intentions and provide solutions if it does not.
- Proactively share development progress with your function members, Chief, PL, and TE to confirm proper direction, successful completion or raise awareness of concerns.
- Complete all required training and share best practices with your peers
- Create Value & Innovation through studying technical trends and new technology, consider more efficient processes to support your work, make proposals that create new value for your department, Honda or our customers and confirm application of development strategies for your area of responsibility.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications:
University (First degree) - BSc in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
Minimum Experience:
3+ years automotive suspension component and system design experience, or closely related
Other Job-Specific Skills:
CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) with Kinematics or closely related, Microsoft Office
