Qualification & Skills:
Mechanical engineering professional with strong academic record and professional experience in Piping design & Packaging Projects.
Sound knowledge of Piping design for Process industry / FMCG / Pharma/Chemical.
Strong communication and analytical skills with professional experience in Piping and Packaging design.
Ability to prepare and oversee work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly.
Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries.
Facilitates technical discussions with onsite, offshore design team, client, supplier, and coordinates with client representatives to obtain approval of drawings/documents for different project phases.
Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering. Makes independent decisions concerning problems within the discipline on the project.
Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and coordinate work.
Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups/disciplines.
Provides technical guidance and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, designers, and drafters, mentoring them through appropriate on-the-job training.
Knowledge of Piping standards – ASME B-31.3, BPE, etc.
Knowledge of PFD, TFS, Layout, and Elevation.
Knowledge of Vendor Coordination, RFQ preparation and floating, Equipment selection and vendor analysis, Site Clearance & Installation of Piping equipment, evaluation of Utility requirements, ESM.
Expertise in Layout Optimization, decision-making on layout design and equipment selection.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3D design tools & review software like NavisWorks.
Good working knowledge in the application of 2-D for developing conceptual designs and production design deliverables of complex plants.
Ability to guide modelers/drafters and team for best piping layout design as per industry norms.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Capable of technical discussion with the client & project execution, review of construction drawings, Technical Specification, Technical Recommendation, Quality Assurance Plan & Mechanical deliverables.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to learn quickly and drive to broaden knowledge base.
Knowledge of Project Planning & Management, budgeting, Scheduling & Risk Management.

Manage client interaction and peer review on design issues during all project development phases.
Vendor coordination
Develop overall Conceptual and Basis of Design level design approaches and documentation. Providing feasible & cost-effective solutions per client needs.
Develop piping plant systems philosophies.
Develop Mechanical / Packaging equipment and construction specifications.
Responsible for the delivery of projects on time with zero defects.
Perform construction assistance in submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction of Mechanical / Packaging scope is executed per the design intent, and assisting in start-up of systems when required.
Manage and develop mechanical/utilities scope for project budgets and schedules. Travel as required for client development and project execution.
Coordinate with contractors and oversee all construction activities, providing technical guidance.
Coordinate assigned engineering work with other project groups/disciplines.
Provide technical guidance and interface with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, designers, and drafters, mentoring them through appropriate on-the-job training.
Maintain contacts, as directed, with client representatives, suppliers, appropriate field personnel, and other disciplines.
