Job Description:
Role Overview: The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of our production, supply chain, and operational processes. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high quality while driving the company’s growth initiatives. The Director of Operations will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and work closely with other senior leaders to achieve our ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including production planning, inventory management, and logistics, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Production Oversight: Manage the end-to-end production process, from sourcing materials to final product delivery, ensuring high-quality standards and on-time execution.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, reduce lead times, and minimize costs while maintaining quality and sustainability.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to support the company’s rapid growth and ensure reliable operations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring that contingency plans are in place to address potential disruptions in the supply chain or production processes.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Manage operational budgets, monitor KPIs, and provide regular reports on operational performance to senior management.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with the technology team to implement tools and systems that enhance operational efficiency and provide real-time insights into production and supply chain metrics.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, with a strong background in fashion manufacturing, production, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successfully scaling operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Deep understanding of the fashion industry’s production processes, supply chain dynamics, and quality standards.
- Experience working with apparel manufacturers based in Asia is required.
- Must live in Los Angeles and be able to work in a hybrid remote and on-site capacity (50/50).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Experience with vendor management and negotiations, with a strong network of industry contacts.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and optimize operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to Asia periodically as needed to oversee production and supply chain activities
