Financial Accountant

Role Overview:
They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant based in Las Vegas to support their finance department. This role involves managing the financial operations of their entities in Las Vegas and Los Angeles and assisting with finance tasks across the restaurant group. Primarily remote, this position requires occasional visits to the Las Vegas restaurant to understand operations and build relationships with the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare management accounts, balance sheets, and income statements for each US entity. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for decision-making.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, invoice booking, and weekly pay runs. Ensure accurate financial transaction postings and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Assist with internal and external audits.
- Work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments.
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly sales for US entities. Process sales journals and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate processing of payroll journals and reporting. Assist in reconciling payroll reports and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Support internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls within the finance function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Qualified or part-qualified accounting certification with a recognized professional body.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
