Job Title:- Quality Engineer
Duration:- 12- months position (May go Longer)
Location:- Warren, Michigan,48092
Daily Schedule/Shift:-
Can be 1st or 2nd shift. Monday-Friday. Occasional overtime as needed. Candidate will know what shift they will be on after they accepted the offer.
1st shift: 7am-3:30pm
2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm
Job Description:
• Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution to ensure segment leadership.
• Provide clear and timely communication to Quality, Operations and Program management relative to quality issues.
• Call out issues and collaborate with engineering teams to provide timely containment in order to meet build and validation schedules.
• Work with Validation owners to ensure that any defects are contained/corrected in manner that protects Validation activities.
• Lead launch and current product problem solving activities.
• Deploy quality work according to planned development timing.
• Work with the product team to identify and gather critical status updates for Quality reviews.
• Facilitate Quality Review meetings with integrity of presentation materials.
• Mentor and teach UAW-represented Hourly individuals and Program Teams in use of our Quality tracking and resolution systems.
• Understand and work within Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Business Plan Deployment (BPD) framework.
• This position is an on-site position at Global Technical Center PPO Shops.
• Can be Day shift or Afternoon shift and may change at any time.
• Must have ability to learn and work within GM IT systems including but not limited to EMS (Engineering Materials System)
• Strong background in Problem solving and the ability to track issues to closure
• Bill of material experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and drive results working within strict time frames
• Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
• MS Office suite including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Mechanical or electrical
• 2-4 years’ experience required.
• Project management- Someone who initiated a project that had deliverables.
• Ability to communicate- Somebody that feels comfortable speaking in front of people. Going in front of clients that is talking about solutions.
• Organizational skills
• Problem solving skills- Example, not able to adjust steering wheel to verify the part number.
