Field Service Technician-Electro-mechanical

Summary of Essential Functions: As a Field Service Technician, troubleshoot, service, install (deploy) and repair state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment at customer sites. Must be open and approachable and demonstrate solid communication skills, both oral and written. Possess strong electro-mechanical technical problem-solving skills. Consistently use experience and reasoning to plan and accomplish goals. Travel will depend on the area of the base location.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of new equipment
- Troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment
- Inspect machines for safety, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical problems.
- Perform electronic and hydraulic tune-ups of machines
- Evaluate the customer’s needs for machine parts
- Conduct training classes to inform and educate customer’s maintenance personnel
- Conduct direct and clear communication with the customers regarding their specific needs
- Build strong relationships with maintenance personnel and management within the customer’s organization
- Manage the activities of the customer’s maintenance personnel and/or outside contractors during machine installations or major overhauls
- Strong communication skills coupled with technical knowledge and aptitude
- Must be good at problem-solving and decision-making and communicating issues to clients in a positive and helpful manner
Qualifications:
- Formal technical school training or MILITARY technical training
- Previous hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronics experience
- Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office
- Previous experience in the maintenance area of a foundry operation is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel as needed (50% to 75% overnight Monday thru Friday)
- Self-motivated, self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation
- Strong customer service attitude
Ideal Candidate:
- Military technical training or Associates degree or higher in related field
- Military training in the following fields desired: Avionics, Electronics, Fire Control, Nuclear,
- Electrical/Electrician, Hydraulics, Pneumatics
- 4-20 years of engineering technician/service experience
