AgZen’s mission is to make agrochemical spraying more efficient and eliminate pesticide waste. Our patented retrofits allow farmers to spray up to 50% less agrochemicals while improving pest/disease control, crop health, and yield. We are looking for a sharp, tenacious, and creative Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision) to help develop AgZen’s sensing and software portfolio. This position is at the intersection of agrochemical spraying, machine learning, and computer vision. You will own and contribute to the development of our software portfolio and interact heavily with our world class engineering team to build software platforms that can help growers make spraying more efficient.
Note: This position is available to be filled immediately, with the latest start date being November 1st, 2024. This role is located in Somerville, MA (Boston area) with work required to be in-person.
What you will do:
- Implement deep-learning models and/or frameworks that can be used in object segmentation, classification, optical flow, 3D reconstruction, video models, etc.
- Architect and implement new end-to-end models to merge existing networks
- Employ quantization to enable power-efficient execution on edge devices
- Explore and develop innovative methods to improve model accuracy and inference speed, particularly in edge deployment scenarios
- Stay at the forefront of AI research, particularly in CNNs, transformers, and model quantization
- Architect and develop data processing and annotation pipelines for continuous system monitoring and improvement in collaboration with the software engineering team

Qualifications:
- Master’s/PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of work experience in developing algorithms and solving problems in computer vision/perception
- 2+ years in developing production machine learning systems (PyTorch preferred)
- Adept with the latest research in perception, machine learning, deep learning and robotics. Someone active in community reading conference research papers
- Experience working with robotics systems that use perception and AI components is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, OpenCV, PyTorch, and related tools
