Key Responsibilities
- Independently conduct calculations and develop comprehensive designs for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including full equipment selection, for projects of varying scales.
- Serve as a technical expert and resource within the office, demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of HVAC systems.
- Author specifications and ensure their coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with code officials and other design professionals when interpretations or exceptions to building codes are necessary. Maintain extensive knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Possess a deep understanding of the construction process, including reviewing shop drawings and addressing inquiries during construction.
- Perform system analysis and comparisons based on economical and functional considerations.
- Conduct due diligence and feasibility studies to support client requirements for systems of varying complexity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
- Proficiency in CAD is required; experience with Revit is preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant building codes and LEED requirements.
