Role: Electrical Engineer

We have teamed up with a leading machinery manufacturer in Buffalo, focusing in the industrial sector for power plants, petrochemical plants, off-shore platforms, refineries etc.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, and the design team to develop electrical system designs.
- Analyze customer-provided information such as drawings and specifications (mechanical, electrical, painting, welding, non-destructive testing, etc.).
- Evaluate and integrate customer electrical and instrumentation specifications into project designs.
- Create wiring diagrams, junction box layouts, conduit/cable routing plans, and electrical BOMs for customer submission and internal manufacturing.
- Offer technical support to design and drafting teams to generate accurate drawings.
- Prepare inquiries to sub-suppliers for component selection or cost estimation.
- Collaborate with the project team to monitor project cost estimates and technical data from start to finish.
- Manage order placement, expediting, and shipping coordination for electrical components.
- Handle electrical supply chain management and negotiate contract pricing.
- Review control system narratives and assist with controls checks and testing for equipment packages with control panels/systems.
- Draft work instructions for the installation of electrical components.
What you’ll need:
- General knowledge of NEC and other international electrical codes such as IEC and CSA.
- General knowledge of instrumentation and controls.
- Ability to create and/or review controls narratives.
- General knowledge of commercial terms.
- General knowledge of rotating equipment
- General knowledge of API standards
- AS or BS in Engineering or similar
