Insight Global is seeking a Firmware Engineer for a permanent opportunity with one of the most innovative companies in Lexington, KY. The Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and leveraging embedded firmware for a variety of electronic hardware platforms. This is a permanent position that follows a hybrid schedule working 2-3 days onsite.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Proficient in Embedded Linux Operating Systems
1-2 years of experience in Firmware Engineer role or equivalent internship (project related work)
Experience with design, debugging, and problem-solving using C/C++
Understanding of logic design concepts and collaborative code development environments
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role are focused on the development, implementation, & testing of Firmware utilized to interface with custom ASICs that reside on Lexmark products. This role will consist of developing device drivers to interface with mechanisms, creating development/debug tools, and developing unit testing. Experience with C/C++, Linux, embedded systems, or image processing is highly preferred for this role. This Firmware Engineer will join a collaborative group of 5-7 firmware engineers and will have an experienced mentor to assist in all projects and development.
