The Technology Specialist is responsible for managing and troubleshooting technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, collaborating with various departments to meet their technological needs, and providing quality assurance for equipment used in presentations and executive briefings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will also possess a deep understanding of audio-visual systems and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Employment type: Contract
Duration: 24 hrs/wk through December 31, 2024 and may increase to full time hours starting January 2025
Location: Onsite in either Bellevue, Washington or Herndon, Virginia
Responsibilities:
Technology Infrastructure Management:
- Make timely and accurate diagnoses of system-related problems, distinguishing between hardware, software, and network issues, and work in conjunction with other IT operations/engineering groups to provide resolutions.
- Identify risks, ask the right questions, and escalate issues appropriately.
- High level of attention to detail and communicate effectively with all levels of seniority.
- Assist EBC team with meetings and walk-throughs, providing supporting documentation.
- Working understanding of networking, hardware, and software so you can diagnose technical issues
- Perform basic and moderately complex troubleshooting and repair activities, typically associated in an end-user environment, including but not limited to PC's, desktops, laptops, tablets and printers
Collaboration and Integration:
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their technological requirements for presentations and demonstrations.
Quality Assurance:
- Test equipment to ensure it is working at the beginning of event day.
- Provide technical expertise and support during client visits and executive briefings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field.
- Previous experience in tech support.
- Experienced in video conferencing hardware and software (codecs and infrastructure, video walls).
- Strong knowledge of audio-visual systems, interactive displays, and collaboration tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications in relevant technologies.
- Proven experience within an executive briefing center or similar customer/executive environment.
- Fluent understanding of signal flow, able to perform root cause analysis on the spot, and capable of reading and creating line diagrams.
- Capable of actively recommending effective courses of action, communicating resolutions, policies, and procedures to various IT partners, management, and the end-user population.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, adaptable to change, and with a growth mindset.
- Typically requires technical school certification or equivalent of 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of relevant software and hardware systems
