Our client, a Nutrition and Supplement brand, is seeking a contract Production Coordinator to support the photo and video team by organizing and archiving camera media, facilitating a smooth workflow from production to post-production, and addressing any requests from stakeholders as needed. The role also involves maintaining file organization, handling billing and contracts, and assisting producers, photographers, editors, videographers, and art directors. This individual must be resourceful, highly organized, and proactive to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Production Coordinator will stay updated on advancements in Adobe Creative Suite, capture and editing technologies, as well as digital media management formats and best practices to ensure optimal production workflows. The position requires onsite support for photo and video capture during productions and travel to company events for multiple days. Additionally, the Production Coordinator will manage, catalog, and store the existing prop library, branded apparel, and wardrobe, and coordinate or purchase additional items as needed. This position will be located on site in the Torrance office.
- Rate range: $20-24 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Manage media assets, including preparation, mastering, archiving, and trafficking.
- Coordinate with producers, project managers, and asset managers to receive, organize, and ingest raw media assets, and input metadata using the local digital asset management system to maintain consistent taxonomy for easy search and retrieval.
- Follow company file naming conventions and taxonomy with precision.
- Stay current with all file-based technology, including formats and codecs.
- Monitor creative marketing and social media trends from healthy active lifestyle brands.
- Coordinate schedules and budgets with Producers, Resource Managers, and Project Managers.
- Perform basic edits using in-house systems, primarily Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
- Assist producers with sourcing vendors, booking, processing contracts, billing, and providing pre-production/onsite support.
- Maintain the props and storage rooms.
- Coordinate and transport on-site production catering and/or equipment using the company vehicle.
Required Qualifications:
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a large team.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.
- Highly organized, diligent, and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe CC, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro CC (Media Management, Encoding, and Basic Editing).
- Comfortable working in a technology-focused environment and familiar with on-site production terminology.
- Experience with photo and video/audio quality control.
- Ability to have a “critical eye” and offer creative feedback and solutions.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- 1-2 years as a photo/video production assistant or in a similar role.
- Associate's degree in film and video production or a related field.
