ResiBridge designs, builds, and operates a hybrid network of fiber optic and high-capacity wireless links for multi-dwelling units (MDUs). We are pushing the limits of available technology and over-delivering lightning-fast bandwidth using equipment only previously seen on commercial buildings. ResiBridge is seeking a skilled and motivated NOC/DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network protocols and theory, troubleshooting skills, experience providing network support for a large-scale enterprise or service provider environment. You will have a proved track record of success in driving complex issues to resolution autonomously and/or collaboratively, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. A typical day can sometimes be physically demanding, but you’ll be willing to participate in field deployments that are often off-site and occasionally off-hours. This position will be based in New York City but willing to travel, approximately 20%.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance and ensure the stability of the network using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, NMAP, and Wireshark.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly, following incident management procedures and maintaining detailed records.
- Perform thorough troubleshooting of network issues, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components.
- Conduct routine system administration tasks on both Linux and Windows servers.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and incident reports.
- Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Utilize scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate network tasks and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with other team members to share knowledge, support each other, and achieve common goals.
- Stay current with new technologies and best practices, and continually seek ways to improve network performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network operations, system administration, or a similar role.
- Relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with network protocols such as HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and BGP.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.
- Basic to advanced knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Understanding of network security practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- This position operates in a 24/7 NOC environment. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- This role may require occasional travel to data centers or client sites.
