Job Title: Distribution Center Human Resources Assistant
Overview: As a Distribution Center Human Resources Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department's functions within our distribution center. You will assist in various HR tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting the overall employee experience. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support:
- Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and corresponding with candidates.
- Coordinate new hire orientations and onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, attendance, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of HR-related documents, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and disciplinary notices.
Benefits Administration:
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and assist in resolving any issues that may arise.
Compliance and Policies:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, communicating changes to employees as necessary.
Employee Relations:
- Provide support in resolving employee concerns and conflicts, escalating issues to HR management when necessary.
- Assist in conducting investigations into employee complaints or disciplinary matters as directed by HR leadership.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate training sessions and development programs for employees, tracking participation and effectiveness.
- Assist in identifying training needs and opportunities for skill enhancement within the distribution center workforce.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and preparing reports.
- Handle inquiries from employees and external parties professionally and promptly, directing them to the appropriate resources as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in an administrative or HR support role, preferably within a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to the distribution industry, is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This role is based in a fast-paced distribution center environment, requiring the ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
