Description:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides high quality patient care in support of Occupational Medical Services at the Hanford environmental restoration site in Richland, Washington.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is responsible the following duties:
Perform physical exams.
Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses.
Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures.
Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care.
Requirements:
The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant shall have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in the provision of general medical services.
Clinical experience in providing Occupational Health services is highly desirable.
Education / Training:
The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant shall possess a minimum of a BSN from an accredited college or university.
Successful completion of the AHA training in BLS and ACLS.
Knowledge / Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Must be able to work on an independent basis.
Must have ability to build rapport with patients.
Must work cooperatively within a team.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
- Valid WA Nurse Practitioner License (Required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications shall be maintained and current at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Working Conditions:
General medical office environment may require minor lifting and bending.
Complies with all Company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures. Participates in and supports the Hanford safety program. Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Identifies potential hazards, concerns, and safety incidents and reports to supervisory personnel.
