Job Summary:
ABL is actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriter to join the rapidly growing Underwriting team (Bridge) This person will work directly with the firm’s senior leadership to refine internal processes, analyze new inquiry, and help manage portfolio risk.

Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze and perform risk assessments for term loans
- Take Loan Officer inquiries and discuss viability of opportunities
- Conduct Borrower underwriting interviews
- Update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform with loan details and underwriting notes.
- Structure loans in accordance with ABL’s guidelines
- Provide recommendations to credit committee on the approval or rejection of loans
- Maintain a robust pipeline of loans at various stages of underwriting
- Review appraisal reports, credit backgrounds, and other aspects of loans files prior to clearing them for closing.
- Coordination with operations for loan closings
- Interface with loan buyers to increase efficiency of loan sales
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of Mortgage industry experience.
- Track record of success working with a cross functional team in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be comfortable on the phone
- Technological proficiency including Microsoft Excel and similar tools
- Spanish fluency a plus
- US citizenship or green card required.
