Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Probate Paralegal to join our Firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of probate procedures, estate administration, and trust management. This role is critical in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the efficient handling of probate and estate matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and other court documents.
- Assist with the administration of estates, including gathering and managing assets, communicating with beneficiaries, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support attorneys in the management and administration of trusts, including the preparation of trust accountings, distributions, and tax filings.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in the probate and estate administration process.
- Conduct legal research and gather information necessary for the preparation of documents and court filings.
- Manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; Paralegal certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a trusts and estates legal department or similar setting.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of probate procedures, estate administration, and trust management. Familiarity with state and federal laws related to trusts and estates.
