SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Individual will work primarily on second shift with overtime as needed.
Individual must work closely and effectively with others in their department to achieve overall objective of on-time quality parts manufactured safely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The primary Responsibilities include:
- Writing, reviewing, and editing machine programs for 2 axis lathes and mills using Gibbs Cam Programming.
- Programming includes new part development, evaluating / implement requests for changes, and improving existing programs or associating tooling.
- Reading part and die prints; setting machine speeds and feeds while selecting the appropriate tooling.
- Consulting with Design Engineers and Quality Personnel as necessary to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements specified on drawings, while ensuring finished product meets accepted quality standards.
- Ensuring consumable inventory is managed to prevent delays in upcoming orders
- Trouble shooting with other operators
- Running machines, and adherence to machine shop schedule.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years programming experience preferred
- Proficient with CAD/CAM software and basic understanding of GD&T
- Good math skills required
- Interest and willingness to learn
- Positive outlook and a wide comfort zone a must
SCOPE:
Position reports to the Operations Manager.
2nd Shift - Tuesday through Friday 2pm - Midnight
