AKKODIS is seeking a Storage Area Network operation for a contract opportunity with a client located in Mechanicsburg, PA. We seek someone with experience in Linux/Unix Server, Storage, and NetBackup
Pay Rate: $50hr. to $55/hr.
Description
The position performs all activities related to the deployment, administration, and support of the enterprise LINUX, operations, enterprise Storage Area Network operations, and NetBackup enterprise data protection supporting the client management applications. The role involves collaborating with other LINUX/SAN team members to ensure the enterprise successfully implements LINUX services.
Job Duties
- Oversees and performs system updates, patches, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Installs, configures and maintains Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
- Administers and maintains a highly available Linux environment, configuring performance, capacity, and availability management of the Linux servers.
- Manages virtualization platforms (OpenShift, KVM, VMware) and ensures efficient resource utilization.
- Ensures operational business using a trouble ticket system (troubleshooting, third/fourth level support).
- Customization and creation of automation processes and automatic system configurations
- (scripting, Satellite) and IT Security support to implement hardening/securing server systems and their services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years or more of IT Infrastructure admin/management
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in shell scripting and advanced scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell.
- In-depth understanding of networking concepts and services (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP).
- Practical administration experience in virtualized environments (OpenShift, KVM, VMware).
- Advanced knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Advanced Knowledge Monitoring and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of SAN management.
