The main role of the Senior Systems Security Administrator is to ensure that all IT systems: both hardware and software based, operate efficiently across BS&B’s US affiliates with a key emphasis on system security and data resilience. The job will also entail the completion of key IT security projects that are in line with the organization’s strategic objectives and growth plans.
- Manage and maintain the network environment and all associated physical and logical structures.
- Manage and configure the US active directory environment including AD synchronization, group and security policies.
- Maintain the Microsoft Azure server environment and network topology.
- Manage the US data backup and resiliency services across the US affiliates.
- Support employee user access and role-based system access and right management, including audit tracking.
- Develop and maintain support documentation in accordance with BS&B and industry standards.
- Managing administrative duties and ticket documentation effectively and in a proactive way.
- Manage the network, server and application environment across the governed regions.
- Examine the networking topologies of each facility in the NAFTA region in order to optimize data flow, security and resiliency.
- Assess the data security requirements in each of the governed regions and develop suitable response plans to handle both internal and external threats.
- Advise on tools, best practice techniques and methodologies that enhance the organization’s infrastructure.
- Complete all assigned projects on time and to a high standard.
- Ensure that the communication systems are fully operational across all regions. This includes email, Internet, intercompany, audio and video communications.
- Ensure that all direct reports are performing their assigned duties successfully.
- Ensure that all problems are communicated sufficiently and on a timely basis to all affected parties.
- Proactively work to identify security risks, categorize them and provide suitable solutions.
Internally, the Senior System Security Administrator will primarily function as part of a global IT security team consisting of project managers, software developers and system security staff. In order to successfully work in this environment, some travel will be required. In this highly-projectized environment, the key customers will be the management and staff of the organizational business units. Externally, the Senior System Security Administrator will interact with IT equipment vendors, contractors and consultants.
Decision Making: The Senior System Security Administrator will be responsible for all decisions pertaining to the purchasing and installation of all hardware, software and networking equipment in the US region of the organization. Also, all IT security-based strategic planning projects in this region will be under the remit of this position.
- Reporting Line: The Senior System Security Administrator will report directly to the Global IT Manager.
- Direct Reports: The following personnel will report directly to the Senior System Security Administrator.
- The System Administrator in charge of supporting the US operations.
- All external IT support and security contractors in the US.
- Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, networking systems or a systems security discipline.
- Azure Administration certification is a distinct advantage.
- Cybersecurity accreditation an advantage.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a mid to large company environment as a network or system security administrator.
- Proven track record of problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
