Seeking an IT Business Analyst for a 6+ month long contract role with a client in the legal and insurance services industry. This role will sit on a software development and implementation project that is at the end phases of development, and is preparing for a go-live of a new internal application at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025.
This is a hybrid position to Princeton, NJ after the initial onboarding period.
Open for W2 contractors that are USC/GC holders. There is potential for a contract extension, or direct hire conversion.
Summary:
The Business Analyst (BA) will flex between new product/process development and driving improvements in the ongoing operations. The BA leads the documenting and analysis of existing systems and highlights areas of improvement to support all areas of the business. The incumbent assesses projects and legal controlling documents with an emphasis on creating supporting documentation and visuals that create ease of understanding. The BA drives innovative solutions by working collaboratively with other internal and external parties.
Functions:
1. Meet with Business Unit Stakeholders to develop Business Requirements documents across Company business units focusing on the development of a new software platform.
2. Review documents including statements of work; analyze specific needs of clients/projects based on various components identified; document changes between cases; and perform gap analyses and recommend solutions.
3. Partner with business stakeholders to gather, compile, and deliver user stories for strategic and business decision making.
4. Create functional specifications, document requirements, and prepare wireframes/flowcharts.
5. Translate User Stories and Business Requirements documents to vendors for execution.
6. Ensure business stakeholders are in alignment with the documents created.
7. Validate the functionality of the end-product according to the requirement specifications.
8. Identify and lead improvements in workflow; support existing processes, quality, and cost reduction programs.
9. Apply, model, and instruct employees on development of strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
10. Build, develop and maintain allocation strategies to monitor and forecast workflow, capacity, and throughput.
11. Conduct meetings and presentations with stakeholders to share progress on tasks.
12. Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members as well as management.
13. Support change and configuration management.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a BA or similar role within IT projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
- Legal vertical market experience preferred.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (i.e. Six Sigma, TQM).
- Demonstrate strong strategic planning and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation and instructional abilities.
- Use of visualization tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
- Ability to effectively analyze results and communicate recommended courses of action to management.
- Highly organized, strong time management skills, and initiative-taking.
- Experience in a problem-solving role is necessary.
