Account Representative Job Description:
The Account Representative serves as the liaison between the customer and the company and performs general customer service tasks to support the company and project a professional company image through in-person, phone, and email interaction.
What you’ll do as the Account Representative:
- Process orders received via phone, website, electronic data interchange (EDI) or other PO forms
- Review product availability and orders in the company ERP system (Microsoft D365 platform)
- Create customer accounts for new customers in Microsoft D365 system
- Follow up on customer inquiries and update customer records as necessary
- Answer phones and direct calls accordingly. Respond to customer inquiries
- Assist in documenting and handling of customer complaints
- Communicate with off-site warehouse regarding ship dates, freight charges, follow up and track orders
- Maintain domestic and international distributor relations
- Collaborate with corporate Accounts Receivable and Import departments to solve invoice inquiries
- Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, faxing, scanning, filing, ordering office supplies/equipment and responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail and shipments
What you’ll bring to the Account Representative role:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, finance or related field
- 2+ years of customer service or account representative experience
- Experience working with ERP systems/Microsoft D365 is preferred
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong math and accounting skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with team members, customers, vendors
- Ability to collaborate and function in a team environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs necessary (Advanced Excel, Word)
