Accounting Assistant Job in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Our client, a well-established company, is looking to have an Accounting Assistant to join their team. This role is perfect for someone with a background in accounting support or accounts payable, looking to contribute to a small, close-knit office environment. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, is detail-oriented, has solid experience in accounting tasks, and is comfortable handling multiple responsibilities with proficiency in both MS Office Suite and QuickBooks.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:
- Provide comprehensive support in accounts payable, including the review, verification, and entry of vendor invoices.
- Reconcile processed work by comparing system reports to balances and ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare and manage weekly A/P reports and cut checks, ensuring all supporting documentation is in order.
- Assist with vendor setup and manage project tracking to ensure accurate cost vs. sales data.
- Support the operations team and finance manager with clerical tasks, including handling POs, preparing per diem checks, and entering time sheet data.
- Ad hoc. administrative tasks based on needs
Qualifications:
- A few years of experience in an accounting support role, preferably with a focus on accounts payable.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with QuickBooks.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a small office environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good tenure in previous roles, showcasing reliability and commitment.
