Job Title: Hadoop Production Support
Client Location: Dallas, TX / Atlanta, GA
Type: Contract
Set-up: Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Production Support Specialist with a strong background in Hadoop development. The ideal candidate will be skilled in self-managing their work, troubleshooting issues independently, and identifying opportunities for optimization and automation within a production support environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Hadoop production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, implementing solutions effectively.
- Identify and drive optimization and automation opportunities.
- Analyze data and code to troubleshoot quality and integrity issues.
- Collaborate with various levels of management and communicate risks proactively.
Required Skills:
- Hadoop Expertise
- Production support experience in a DevOps environment.
- Experience with Spark development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Hadoop troubleshooting from a production support perspective.
Technical Skills:
- Strong Unix skills, including Bash scripting.
- Solid SQL language skills.
- Competent in data and code analysis (troubleshooting data quality/integrity, root cause analysis).
- Basic Java skills (highly desirable).
- Basic Python skills (bonus).
- Experience with automated testing, particularly with Cucumber (huge bonus).
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
- Proactive in identifying and addressing risks before they escalate.
- Experience leading small-scale initiatives.
