Job Description
The Supplier Quality Control Specialist plays a crucial role in upholding the exceptional standards of Doka’s products. This dynamic position involves designing and implementing rigorous quality control processes, conducting thorough inspections, and working closely with cross-functional teams to continuously elevate product quality. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the Specialist will be a key player in driving our commitment to excellence. We are seeking an ideal candidate based in the Chicago or Houston area who is passionate about quality and eager to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures across all areas within Doka USA.
- Conduct inspections and tests on Doka products to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Identify and analyze quality issues, and work with procurement, production, operations and engineering teams to develop corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective action plans (CAPA).
- Train and support Doka branches and appointed local QC persons on quality control processes and best practices.
- Participate in product development and design reviews to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of materials and components.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Confirm inspection date/s with vendor or branch.
- Confirm status of material for inspection, availability of local branch representatives, and moving equipment for sorting parts when necessary.
- Obtain a copy of the PO and packing slip from the Branch Op’s team that lists the parts received and quantities ready for inspection.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or degree/certification in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience with formwork and shoring products is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
- Open and willing to travel up to 85% domestically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering drawings/blueprints.
