Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Onsite- Clayton, NC
Compensation: $85-95K
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing capital/product related plans that enable our client to improve manufacturing performance, and production capacity for new and existing products in the Furniture industry. This role is responsible for maintaining collaboration, documentation, and surveillance over every product’s manufacturing process for the purpose of reducing and controlling cost both through maintenance and new processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the capital plan by providing engineering expertise in methods, estimations, and technology as it pertains to manufacturing requirements. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining and controlling approved expenditure levels.
- This role will be responsible for contributing to the systemic tools (ERP or other business tools as directed), processes regarding those tools and implementation/training of those business applications as required.
- Responsible for directing the continued review of present systems/methods and the formulation of new/revised systems to determine appropriate changes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency. This is achieved through the analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- This position is accountable for ensuring that the required level of service is provided in the area of manufacturing engineering for the facility.
- Accountable for assigning, coordinating and reviewing the technical work of the department or project teams, as well as assisting in developing policies, standards and procedures for the various departments throughout the company.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with ERP manufacturing documenting systems. (BAAN - Commonly seen used in Automotive manufacturing environments)
- University Degree in Engineering – Manufacturing, Process, Mechanical, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years engineering experience in product design/Implementation in a manufacturing environment ( in consumer goods preferred )
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials (ie sheet metal, plastic, wood, foam, etc.)
- Good project and time management skills, experience in handling multiple projects
- Strong 3D modeling software and detail design skills (SolidWorks preferred)
- 3-5 years engineering experience in product design/Implementation in a manufacturing environment ( in consumer goods preferred )
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials (ie sheet metal, plastic, wood, foam, etc.)
- Good project and time management skills, experience in handling multiple projects
- Strong 3D modeling software and detail design skills (SolidWorks preferred)
- Very good communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both in diverse multidisciplinary team environment as well as individually with minimum supervision.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Possible domestic and international travel (as needed) based on projects
