Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with experience working with consumer facing products that currently resides in the LA area. In this role, you will design and develop mechanical components that take our client's products to the next level. Success in this role requires a high level of curiosity, ingenuity, and exceptional analytical and design expertise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design and Development
● Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks or similar CAD
software.
● Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing.
● Develop innovative solutions to meet product requirements and improve existing designs.
Manufacturing Processes
● Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes such as die casting, injection molding, sheet metal
forming, and CNC machining in the design and production stages to ensure high-quality and
efficient manufacturing.
Mechanical Systems
● Design and analyze mechanical systems, including gears, locks, latching, and other components.
● Perform simulations and testing to validate designs and ensure system reliability and
performance.
Materials Selection
● Select appropriate materials for various applications, considering strength, durability, weight, and
cost.
● Conduct material testing and analysis as needed.
Project Management
● Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to
specifications.
Documentation and Reporting
● Maintain accurate documentation of designs, revisions, and project progress.
● Prepare and present technical reports and design reviews.
Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
Desirable Skills & Experience
● Software Proficiency: High level of expertise in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
● Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool
design. Proficiency in designing mechanical systems, including gears, locks, and latching
systems is preferred.
● Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
● Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work
collaboratively in a team environment.
