COMMERCIAL DESIGN AND SALES ENGINEER
Position Description:
The Development Engineer designs and sells PV systems for both new construction projects that fall under the auspices of one or more Energy Codes, as well as commercial retrofits.

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Commercial Development Engineer
Major areas of responsibility include:
● System design, pricing and proposal
● Meet/exceed proposal deadlines
● Follow up to the point of sale
● Development of relationships with strategic partners and clients
● Maintain the most current working documents on various channels and accurately disseminate project information to the operations team
● Assist the operations team and Project Engineer as needed
Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
Development of relationships with strategic partners and clients
● Develop (or maintains) existing and new partnerships with builders and architects
● Research databases for potential projects and RFPs
● Timely follow up with all proposals to ensure highest possible conversion ratio (proposal to sale)
● Track client interactions via our customer relationship management tool (Salesforce)
System design, proposals
● Participate in all aspects of designing and selling a project
● Understand and design for the Energy Code as it pertains to solar, both statewide and municipal
● Analyze plansets and provide accurate system designs and pricing at varying degrees of granularity - based on the stage of the project
● Project profitability
● Maintain project pipeline and help meet sector revenue goals
Job Requirements
● 2+ years solar industry experience
● 2+ years in the commercial sector in design or project management
● 2+ years of technical sales experience
● Four-year degree or higher in PV design, physics or engineering
● NABCEP PV Installer certification preferred
● Familiarity with NEC and how it pertains to grid-tied PV
● Expert in both Excel and AutoCAD
● Excellent written and verbal communication
