Are you a proactive problem-solver with a passion for improving manufacturing processes? We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who utilizes Six Sigma methodologies to drive data-driven improvements, enhance quality, accelerate production, and reduce costs. Your work will be supported by thorough data analysis and clear documentation, enabling effective communication of results and recommendations. You'll provide our plant with the insights needed for informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure reliable and safe CNC machining processes while enhancing production rates, efficiencies, yields, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify, design, and develop new equipment and tooling sources.
- Support the development of internal processes and procedures to meet APQP requirements.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and initiate problem-solving projects.
- Guide and train Process Techs and Maintenance personnel, setting work priorities and providing direction.
- Investigate and address manufacturing-related Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain automated and lean solutions for manufacturing and business processes.
- Estimate machining cycle times and tooling needs for new and existing parts.
- Create manufacturing plans, visual work instructions, and collaborate with the design engineering team to resolve technical issues, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of manufacturing plant experience.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma, DMAIC, or similar problem-solving methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with milling and turning processes, both CNC and manual; robotic handling and programming experience is a plus.
- Proficient in cutter selection, spindle feed, speed rates, and cycle time estimations.
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work various schedules to support projects.
- Willingness to travel to quarterly for the day or one night.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
