Do you have hands-on experience handling all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting for a small business?
Well versed in accounting software such as Peachtree/Sage50?
What is the Position?
The Bookkeeper / Accountant will be comfortable working in a small office, well organized, and serving as the sole person dealing with financial data and reporting. They will be responsible for all day to day, end of month, and end of financial year accounts such as accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, general ledger, invoicing, reconciling, auditing, and other finance related tasks. The Bookkeeper / Accountant will have an ability to produce clear financial reports.
Working knowledge of Peachtree/Sage 50 or Sage 100 IS A MUST HAVE for this role.
What are the Responsibilities? (Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:)
- Accounts Receivable / Payable
- Creditors’ payments
- Fixed Assets
- Payroll
- General Journals and Accruals
- General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Bank Reconciliation
- Monthly expense Reports
- AMEX monthly bill reconciliation
- Preparation and remittance of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports like Expenses, Payroll, Health Insurance Renewal, Workers Comp, etc.
- Fiscal year audit reports with external auditor and filing tax returns through auditor portal
- Tradeshow Expo contracts & payments
- Bureau of Engraving & Printing Communications
What are the Qualifications?
- 3-5 years experience in Accounting including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, invoicing, reconciliation, and audits
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Peachtree or Sage 50 software experience required.
- Knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS preferred
