Our nonprofit organization Angel Kids Foundation, is dedicated to improving the lives of children by addressing their social determinants of health and ensuring access to mental health services, especially for underserved communities in greater Jacksonville area , We just added a new vertical to work on helping children in Sudan who are affected by the devastating war in the region.
Position: Fundraising Specialist
Location: Washington DC, or remote
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies:
- Design and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to meet the financial needs of the organization.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other potential funding sources.
- Utilize various fundraising techniques, including online campaigns, events, direct mail, and grant writing.
- Grant Writing and Management:
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Prepare and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other entities.
- Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring regular communication and recognition of their contributions.
- Develop and implement donor engagement and retention strategies to foster long-term support.
- Create and distribute impact reports, newsletters, and other materials to keep donors informed and engaged.
- Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including virtual and in-person activities ksuch as galas, auctions, and community events.
- Collaborate with volunteers, staff, and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
- Develop and manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics.
- Marketing and Communications:
- Work with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including brochures, social media content, and email campaigns.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all fundraising efforts.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms to enhance fundraising outreach and engagement.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor information and fundraising activities using the organization's CRM system.
- Analyze fundraising data and prepare regular reports to track progress and inform strategy adjustments.
- Monitor fundraising metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of various initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related role within a nonprofit organization.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor engagement.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and proposals.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in using fundraising software, CRM systems, and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Passion and Commitment:
- Deep commitment to the organization’s mission of improving children’s health and well-being, particularly in conflict-affected regions like Sudan.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events and donor meetings, as needed.
