Position # 1 NP/PA Needed for Primary Care in NYC!
Dates: 8/26/2024 to 9/30/2024 with possible extension.
Coverage Needed for: Monday - Friday
Daily Hours: 7.5 hours
Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Lunch: 30 minutes (site closes for lunch at 12:30pm-1pm daily).
Position # 2 NP Needed for Primary Care in NYC!
Dates: 9/3/24 -1/3/25 (4 months initially with possibility to extend to 6 months)
Hours: Mon-Fri; 8a-5p w/ 60 min lunch
And
Dates: 8/19/24 - 9/14/24
Wednesdays 8:30a-5:00p w/ 30 min lunch
There is a full-time MA on site.
Brief Overview:
-Minor in-office procedures and testing: COVID testing (Rapid/PCR), Strep Throat, Influenza or Mono POCT testing, Splinter removal, Urinalysis/HCG testing and analysis, knowledge of preforming phlebotomy (MA on staff can perform phlebotomy but may need to occasionally preform if she is not available in office), administering nebulizer, and reading EKGs.
-Cerumen impaction removal, Eye care (eye wash available in office for foreign body), Pap Smears and STD testing, Breast examination, complete annual physical exams- referrals to appropriate physicians for preventative care, wound care (minor burns, cuts, blisters), evaluating acute musculoskeletal injuries and splinting minor injuries (wrist, fingers).
-Ability to evaluate, diagnosis, and prescribe treatments of acute and chronic illness
-Administer vaccinations (TDAP, Shingles, travel vaccines upon request)/allergy shots (working collaboratively with patient's allergist) and educating patients regarding aftercare
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Provides written home-going instructions.
• Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
• Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
• Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
• Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
• Educates and coaches nursing staff on best nursing practices.
