A Day in the Life:
As a Traveling Tilt-Up Construction Superintendent, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in post-award meetings to gather project details and prepare for pre-construction planning.
- Working closely with the project manager to develop a comprehensive construction schedule, organizing project resources, and determining manpower and equipment needs.
- Overseeing the entire tilt-up construction process, ensuring projects meet specifications and are completed on time and within budget.
- Assisting with procurement, material shipments, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicating any schedule changes promptly to all supervisors and subcontractors.
- Reviewing and approving project documents, including requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Maintaining regular communication with the project manager to report on progress and address any potential issues.
- Enforcing the company’s safety program across all phases of the project, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.
- Leading site meetings with project and regional managers, and keeping a detailed daily log of project activities.
- Demonstrating strong leadership by managing teams, addressing challenges proactively, and making informed decisions under tight deadlines.
- Traveling to various project sites as required, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in tilt-up construction.
Necessary Qualifications:
- 5-25 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a lead superintendent on tilt-up construction projects.
- Willingness to travel extensively to different project sites as needed.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project management software (Procore experience is advantageous).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a commitment to quality and safety.
