Legal Project Manager
Tremendous opportunity to join a prestigious law firm as a Legal Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will spend approximately 1/3 of your time on training and educating the Firm's staff on project management best practices, 1/3 on budgeting and financial modeling, and 1/3 on project management consulting on projects
- Support the development and implementation of legal project management principles strategically throughout the Firm
- Provide matter planning, process improvement, and strategic pricing support for targeted practice areas and clients throughout the Firm
- Work closely with the partners who oversee alternative fee arrangements and billing, as well as practice leaders
- Act as a resource for lawyers and clients by providing training and matter-specific guidance in defining and scoping work plans, reviewing the management of resources, and preparing, analyzing, and monitoring budgets
- Serve as a liaison to the Billing & Collections Services and Practice Services departments
- Utilize legal project management best practices and build knowledge in specific practice areas and contribute to a repository of past work and templates
- Develop training and monitoring tools to utilize legal project management strategies throughout the Firm in a manner that is consistent with our client service focus
- Utilize Excel, Smartsheets, and Power BI
This opportunity is a direct hire position. You can work in any of our office locations in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland (OH), Columbus (OH), Dallas, Houston, Irvine, Detroit, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington DC, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, and Pittsburgh
After three months, you can telecommute two days a week. There may be travel 5% of the time for meetings and training. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k. The firm contributes 7.5% of your salary each year, plus a potential additional contribution the firm makes at the end of the year based on results.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 3+ years as a Legal Project Manager in a corporate law firm of at least 75+ attorneys
- Advanced Excel skills
- Financially savvy, including doing financial modeling and budgets
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or other applicable area
- Nimble, with the ability to adapt
- Consultative personality
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Smartsheets
- Power BI
- Prior experience teaching and coaching project management principles
- Project management certification
- Experience working with data visualization and analytics programs
- MBA or JD
