Job Title: Director of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
Overview: The Director of Human and Organizational Performance is responsible for shaping and executing both immediate and long-term strategies to successfully integrate the Capacity Model within the organization.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring that key principles such as Prevention, Learning, and the Capacity to Fail Safely are seamlessly embedded in the planning, execution, and evaluation of work processes across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert on the Capacity Model, guiding regional and operational leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive integration strategies. This may include leading cross-functional teams, initiating joint projects, and ensuring alignment and clear communication across various levels of the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead the development and management of initiatives focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Capacity Model integration. This includes analyzing existing practices, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing changes that drive operational excellence.
- Strategic Learning Development: Collaborate with corporate and regional leadership to design and integrate a targeted learning strategy. This strategy will encompass event communication and learning, measuring control effectiveness and safe failure capacity, and embedding HOP principles into event investigations and lessons learned.
- Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Human and Organizational Performance and safety. Regularly review these metrics, analyze trends, and prepare reports for senior management to support informed decision-making and showcase the impact of HOP initiatives on overall company performance.
- Leadership Facilitation: Conduct Leadership Playbook sessions with regional, operational, and corporate executive leadership teams to drive HOP integration and strategic alignment.
- Resource Development: Communicate updates on Capacity Model curricula and related resources to regional and operational leadership, ensuring the latest information is accessible and utilized effectively.
- Partnership Management: Identify and manage collaborations with external organizations, including industry peers and professional bodies. Leverage these partnerships to gain additional expertise, share best practices, and engage in collaborative research or benchmarking related to HOP.
- Team Leadership: Support, mentor, and manage direct reports within the Corporate SH&E team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
