Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Network Operations Lead - PM, Engineering and Planning is responsible for the design reviews of a specified FTTH program and ensuring end-to-end efficiency throughout the entire FTTH project. The Network Operations Lead is expected to lead the Local Client team and GC, overseeing engineering quality, including GC fielding and quality engineering designs from engineering into construction. They will also work with the GC on CAD drawings for permitting and Right Of Way applications, review pole calculations and pole attachment requirements to the facility owners, and conduct quality reviews related to the Bill of Materials, billing milestones, and follow through projects to closeout to assure accurate billing.
The Network Operations Lead will oversee the quality of engineering design reviews, validate underground and aerial drawings, validate splice plans, and provide engineering and planning support to GC construction team members for the Albuquerque market.
For engineering and design project requirements, this individual will communicate and work daily with the GC design teams and partner with the GC on all aspects of project design through construction. They will be responsible for processing billing milestones for payment to GC through the individual project(s).
Ability to manage tight deadlines, manage multiple workflows through various stages of the project life cycle, maintain accurate records, and provide progress reports are important elements to be successful in this position. The ability to lead engineering teams and partner with external and internal peers and partners to drive results on time and on budget is essential.
In addition, this role is responsible for supporting business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following essential duties and responsibilities are required, and other duties may be assigned. Required understanding and ability to quality review the work below, including leading, coaching, and mentoring individuals responsible for the work:
Review engineering design and planning for accuracy prior to construction.
Experience with engineering and application review for pole attachments, underground and aerial design within specifications, and processing billing.
Ability to review design fiber routes and validate splicing prints and work orders for accuracy.
Assist in the planning, analysis, design, and engineering of outside plant fiber network structures and facilities.
Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships and drive projects to completion.
Qualifications
3-5 years of in-depth knowledge and experience with OSP engineering, including underground and aerial design and placement, development of fiber splice plans, OSP materials sourcing, and NESC rules and regulations applicable to communications networks is required.
Experience leading teams is strongly preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Experience with QGIS, IQGEO, and AUTOCAD is preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
Must be resourceful, flexible, and maintain the ability to react and respond quickly with a focus on accuracy and details.
Displays initiative and a strong sense of personal motivation as well as responsibility.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations.
Knowledge of working with government agencies, jurisdictions, and rights of way.
Experience with permit applications/documents.
Knowledge of relevant technology and equipment. Must have good judgment, decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
Salary: $85,000 - $90,000
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
