Role:
- Develop Personalized Learning Plans: Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school administration to create tailored learning experiences that address each student's unique educational, social, emotional, and physical needs.
- Implement Engaging Instruction: Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including direct instruction, discussions, projects, and cooperative work, to keep students engaged, focused, and excited about learning.
- Monitor and Celebrate Progress: Closely track and document student progress using appropriate assessments and measurements, ensuring they meet their IEP goals and school-wide standards.
- Foster a Supportive Environment: Maintain high academic and personal expectations for all students, while upholding the school's policies and procedures for student conduct and discipline.
- Communicate Effectively: Collaborate closely with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure seamless support and progress for each child.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- At least 2 years of teaching experience
- Valid New York State Teaching Certification for Students with Disabilities (Birth-2nd, Grades 1-6, or All Grades)
- Preferred: 2-5 years of teaching experience in an urban school setting
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity
Compensation: $30- $60/hr. based on experience
