Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and passionate associate with three to five years of employment law experience to join their Labor & Employment practice group in either our Los Angeles or San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for building a practice and a desire to work creatively with clients to find effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits.
- Handle wage and hour matters and provide client counseling.
- Make court appearances and conduct depositions.
- Draft and review various legal documents, including:
- Motions to compel arbitration
- Discovery requests and responses
- Oppositions to motions for class certification (including declaration gathering drives)
- Long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions
- Separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs
- Conduct labor due diligence on M&A deals (highly preferred).
Qualifications:
- Admission to the California bar.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent legal writing skills.
- Experience in employment litigation, preferably with an AmLaw 100 law firm.
- Proven ability to handle both single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits.
- Expertise in wage and hour matters and client counseling.
- Experience with drafting a variety of employment-related legal documents.
