Job Description:
We are looking for a Geotechnical Field Engineer with 5-8 years of experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license to manage and oversee geotechnical investigations and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fieldwork, technical analysis, and client interaction. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, stability, and sustainability of thier projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Investigation & Analysis: Conduct field investigations to assess soil conditions, groundwater levels, and subsurface conditions. Perform and supervise field testing, including soil sampling, in-situ tests, and instrumentation.
- Geotechnical Design Support: Provide technical support for geotechnical design, including foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems. Collaborate with design engineers to integrate field data into design recommendations.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and documentation, including site investigation findings, laboratory test results, and recommendations. Ensure reports meet regulatory standards and client requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications and standards. Perform site inspections and oversee geotechnical construction activities, addressing any issues that arise.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and present findings and recommendations. Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and project management.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all fieldwork and construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field staff, promoting professional development and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical field engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and field testing procedures.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
