My client, a prominent heavy civil construction company in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join their growing team. This role is crucial for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and other infrastructure.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Support the management of project costs and resources, ensuring efficient use of materials and labor.
- Maintain detailed project records, including daily reports, inspection logs, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist in preparing project status reports and updates for senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering within the heavy civil construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, such as highways, bridges, or other heavy civil works.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy civil projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards in Arizona.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
